As humans, our brains are wired to reach for and receive, safety, comfort, and connection from our most important relationships, especially when we are distressed. Nothing is more painful and heartbreaking as when these relationships are inaccessible to us, creating distance, turmoil and disconnection from our loved ones.
My primary focus is working with couples, and families with adolescent and/or adult children, using Emotionally Focused Couples and Family Therapy. I offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions. I also provide case consultation and supervision for therapists who are working towards their certification as Emotionally Focused Couple (EFT) Therapists, or those who are interested in expanding and increasing their knowledge of this form of therapy.
I believe in working collaboratively with couples and families, and helping them find better, more effective ways to communicate regarding their needs, fears and what they most long for in their relationships.
Love has an immense ability to help heal the devastating wounds that life sometimes deals us. Love also enhances our sense of connection to the larger world. Loving responsiveness is the foundation of a truly compassionate civilized society.
